Based: Winchester
Rate: £13,845.24 - £14,984.08 (pro-rata)

Hours: Part Time – 20 hours (weekend work on a rolling rota)
Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity, is looking to recruit a Domestic Abuse Health Advocate to provide ongoing specialist advice and support around domestic abuse to general practice teams.
Synopsis of duties:
· Work to promote the training package within the area and to encourage local general practices to sign up to the programme
· Negotiate dates for and arrange training sessions with practices that agree to participate
· Prepare training packs for practice training sessions
· Deliver the training package to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices and prepare training materials where necessary
· Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team
· Maintain effective monitoring procedures and ensure that clear accurate records of practice-based work are kept and maintained, in line with requirement
· Using the data collected, maintain an overview of local practices’ engagement with the programme
· Act upon this overview to proactively ensure that the programme is well established and embedded, and that all local practices are engaging with the programme
· Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information and advocacy to those experiencing domestic abuse through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice
· Work with those experiencing domestic abuse to increase their personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights
· Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users, in line with IRISi requirements
· Work within a strict framework of confidentiality and safeguarding. To ensure that all records are kept securely and in line with Data Protection Act and Confidentiality Policy
· Ensuring that all relevant records are kept accurately and confidentially in a timely manner
· Undertaking administrative and financial tasks and maintaining full records and receipts for all activities
Essential Requirements:
· An understanding and awareness of the needs of women, men and children of all ages who have experienced domestic violence
· An understanding of the complexities of partnership working and a commitment to partnership working
· An understanding and knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to work within national, local and organisational guidelines
· An understanding of safe working practices while working in client’s homes
· Driving license with access to own car
