Role: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)
Based: Stoke-on-Trent
Rate: £28,050
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: FTC until March 2025

Our client is looking to recruit an IDVA to support and advocate on behalf of victims of Domestic Abuse.
Synopsis of duties:
- Implementing effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
- Providing a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a service according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
- Signposting service users for further support to external agencies/organisations for further support with complex needs
- Supporting victims through the Criminal Justice Service, advocating on their behalf and ensuring they are aware of their rights
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children, and the legal and practical remedies available
- Understanding safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities
- IDVA qualification preferred but not essential
- DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
- Clean driving licence with access to a vehicle
