Role: Target Hardening Worker
Based: Hampshire
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £24,696.60 - £25,614.24

Essential: Full Clean UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
Our client, a well-respected charity, is looking for a Target Hardening Worker to coordinate providing enhanced security at client’s homes across Hampshire through “target hardening” of the property and the provision of safety equipment
Synopsis of duties:
- To co-ordinate an individual package of target hardening for clients using Stop Domestic Abuse services which is informed by a full risk assessment, the type and condition of the property and the needs and circumstances of the individual household. Measures may include, but are not limited to, ordering and fitting:
- extra door and window locks
- fire retardant letter boxes
- smoke detectors and fire safety equipment
- window alarms
- intercom systems
- providing security lighting
- installing Ring doorbells
- cutting back hedges; and,
- erecting fences and gates.
- To work closely with The Blue Lamp Trust
- To respond to new referrals within a set timescale.
- To participate and contribute in awareness-raising campaigns of domestic abuse issues locally in liaison with local multi agency partnerships, and to participate in training events.
- To promote the work of the organisation and the Target Hardening Service
- To escalate to management any cases where there are safeguarding or risk management concerns.
- Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
- Work within a strict framework of confidentiality and safeguarding. Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children including Local Safeguarding Children’s Board policies and procedures and the practical implications of this are understood. To ensure that all records are kept securely and in line with Data Protection Act and Stop Domestic Abuse Confidentiality Policy.
- To follow the Lone Working Policy and Procedure.
- Undertake risk assessments in liaison with Managers and other team members re: home visits and neutral location meetings
- Undertaking administrative tasks and maintaining full records for all activities.
- Help maintain accurate and confidential records using our secure web-based case management database and contribute to monitoring information for the service by ensuring that evaluation information is properly recorded
- Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policies and procedures and all legislation connected to your work
- Work flexible hours i.e. evening and weekends where necessary to be flexible as to when the non-abusive partner can meet/be contacted.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the needs of women, men and children who have experienced domestic violence
- Experience of using tools (including power tools)
- Experience of safe working practices while working in client’s homes
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to work within national, local and organisational guidelines
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service would be advantageous.
